Itinenary

Day 1 – 7/11/’15 When you arrive into Kathmandu airport, you will be met by the Whitewater Adventures Nepal Expedition Leader and transferred to the hotel to relax or recover from jetlag. The Whitewater Adventures Nepal fleet of boats will be at the hotel so you can spend time fitting out your boat at your leisure. Welcome dinner in the evening talk about the next day’s culture tour.

Day 2 – 8/11/’15  Sightseeing 10 am – 4pm. Your expedition leader with culture guide will meet you in your hotel after breakfast and we will begin the sightseeing and exploration day around Kathmandu. We will visit Patan Museum, Durbah square and Pashupatinath. After sightseeing you will have more time to spend fitting out your boats and getting them to your liking! In the afternoon approximately 5pm we will hold our pre departure meeting. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 3 – 9/11/’15After breakfast we will take you to our bus from your hotel which is five or ten minutes and we will put all the bags in the bus and load up the kayaks and drive to the Trishuli River, approximately 2 hrs drive. The Trishuli River starts up on the Tibetan plateau near the famous Langtang region. Legend has it that the god Shiva high up in the Himalaya at Gosainkund drove his trident into the ground and created three springs, the source of the river and hence the name Trishuli. The river is big volume and famous in Nepal for it’s kayaking and rafting and there are a variety of different sections depending on the ability of the group. One day to five day trips you can journey downstream through rapids such as ‘ Upset’, ‘Surprise’ and ‘ Ladies Delight’ just to name a few. There is also time to enjoy the scenery and wave to the villagers on the calmer sections. Big sandy beaches provide ideal spots to camp.

The volume in November is around 10 000 cfs. A fantastic river to warm up on with mostly class 3 bigger volume whitewater with a few class 4’s. Put in at Baireni and paddle the Trishuli River fun bouncy whitewater. Camp on riverside beach.

Day 4 – 10/11/’15 Paddle Trishuli River in the morning and take out at Fishling. Have lunch and then drive with private bus approximately 4 hrs to the stunning lakeside town of Pokhara. Stay overnight in hotel in Pokhara.

Day 5 – 11/11/’15 After breakfast drive approximately half an hour to the Upper Seti River which is a fun and continuous half-day trip of predominantly class 3  whitewater.  We will paddle approximately 5 miles with the volume in November around 700 cfs.  We will take some snacks and water for the trip. We will have a picnic lunch at the take out.

Spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful Pokhara and get organized for the 3 day Kali Gandaki paddling trip. Pick up last minute extra snacks, sun cream stock up on camera batteries ect.

Stay overnight in hotel in Pokhara

The Kali Gandaki River rises in Mustang, which is situated up on a high plateau bordering with Tibet. It boasts one of the deepest gorges in the world dropping between Dhaulagiri ( 8167 metres ) and Annapurna ( 8091 metres ).It’s glacial run off from the Annapurna mountains makes medium volume whitewater mainly bouncy fun drop pool with big wave trains It is a fantastic river for kayakers and rafters alike. Rapids such as ‘ Little Brother, Big Brother’ and ‘Rafters Refund ‘ will have paddlers feeling exhilarated. There are also tranquil calm sections to enjoy the spectacular scenery and watch the monkeys play on the cliffs. Lush rainforests line the riverbanks and camping is on beautiful sandy beaches.

Day 6 – 12/11/’15 After breakfast take all your bags and load them on our private bus and load the kayaks and all food and equipment for the trip as well.  Drive approximately 3 hrs to the put in of the Kali Gandaki River, Maldunga. We will paddle approximately 37 miles over 3 days with the volume in November 4200 cfs. Have lunch and get prepared for the river trip. Paddle the afternoon on lovely whitewater of class 3 level. Camp on riverside beach.

Day 7  - 13/11/15  Have a yummy breakfast and then pack up and get ready for an awesome day of super fun whitewater with stunning scenery. Class 3 and 4 whitewater with lots of fun waves to play on along the way. Have lunch on a riverside beach and paddle another couple of hours of fun whitewater after lunch. Camp on riverside beach.

 Day 8  - 14/11/’15 After breakfast load up and get ready for a fun half day of whitewater mostly class 3.Take out at the hydroelectric dam at Mirmi. Load up our private bus. Have lunch and then drive back to Pokhara approximately 4 hrs drive through some picturesque hills and countryside. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 9  - 15/11/’15 Pack up the bus and boats and head out to the lower Seti River . The Seti River rises on the south east slopes of Machapuchare Mountain and then flows south. The water is warm and the rapids are fun and relatively straightforward class 2-3. This river is beautiful and flows the stunning jungle corridor with big sandy picturesque beaches for camping.

The drive with private bus to the Seti River will take approximately 2 hrs. This cruisy whitewater trip will mainly focus on yoga and meditation. We will paddle approximately 20 miles over 3 days and the volume in November is around 2500 cfs.  In between rapids there are calm flat sections to spend time reflecting on the trip so far and enjoy the stunning scenery! Camp on riverside beach and do yoga and meditation.

Day 10  - 16/11/’15 After breakfast put on the river and spend the day on easy class 2-3 whitewater taking the time to relax. Have lunch on riverside beach and then have a short afternoon paddling. After setting up camp do some yoga and meditation on the riverside beach.

Day 11  - 17/11/’15 After breakfast pack up and paddle nice class 2- 3 through lush jungle and monkeys along the riverbanks. We will take out at Gai Ghat and have lunch. Pack up the bus and drive back to Kathmandu approximately 4 hrs. Relax and have a hot shower in hotel. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 12 – 18/11/’15 After breakfast we will take you to our bus from your hotel which is five or ten minutes and we will put all the bags in the bus. We will drive approximately 2 and a half hrs to the lower Bhote Kosi River. You will get magnificent views of the Everest Mountain Range if the weather is clear. Paddle beautiful class 2- 3 whitewater. We will have lunch along the way. Camp on the river bank.

Day 13  – 19/11/’15 Drive up the narrow windy road to the put in approximately 1 hr. Paddle the Balephi Khola river taking in stunning views of Dorje Lakpa on a clear day. The Balephi Khola is one of the smaller tributaries of the Sun Kosi and is a lovely tight boulder strewn river with crystal clear water. We will paddle this lovely jewel of a river down into the Sun Kosi River.  Take out and drive with private bus up the Bhote Kosi River valley that leads to Tibet. Camp approximately 20 kilometers from the border of Tibet and Nepal at the put in of the famous Upper Bhote Kosi River.

This river starts in Tibet and flows through the Himalayas of Nepal. It joins forces with the Indrawati River at Dolalghat and becomes the Sun Kosi River. Bhote is a Nepalese word which translates to Tibet and because of where this river comes from it is known as the Bhote Kosi .It is one of the best kayaking and rafting trips in the world with continuous big volume and steep whitewater rapids. Frog in the Blender, Carnal Knowledge, Liquid Bliss, the Great wall and many more rapids will have you feeling  exhilarated when you arrive at the take out point of the river.

Day 14 -20/11/’15 Paddle or Raft the Upper Bhote Kosi River. An awesome day of amazing whitewater class 3- 5 continuous rapids. Scouting the bigger rapids to make sure everyone feels comfortable on this section. There is the possibility of rafting if people are not keen to paddle kayaks on this section. After an awesome days paddling drive back to Kathmandu in private bus approximately  2 and a half hrs. Relax in hotel and have a nice hot shower and get ready for celebration dinner! Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 15 – 21/11/’15 Shopping day and relax in Kathmandu. Stay overnight in hotel
